Shari Gallup is an extension educator and Certified Health and Wellness Coach® and has been making a difference in lives of ordinary people for over 20 years in the areas of diabetic education, health and wellness, food safety and using functional food to fight disease. She has served as past President of the Ohio Nutrition Council and provided organizational leadership in developing a national diabetes education team. She has won several state and national awards and received the Health Excellence in Education Award from the Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center for her work in teaching Dining with Diabetes. Shari has studied with experts from the Harvard Research Institute at the Culinary Institute of America and traveled to Italy to study food as medicine to better understand how food can heal. In the local community, she provides leadership to diabetes education, health and wellness, and food safety education. Gallup is a passionate and mindful speaker who is creative in her teaching and research approach and enjoys motivating, educating and having fun.
